2008 Vintage Reviews
2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Beckstoffer To Kalon
Score: 93“Pure, rich and graceful, brimming with ripe, zesty wild berry, raspberry, black licorice and lead pencil. Full-bodied and very stylish, though not what you expect from a To Kalon bottling. Drink now through 2022.” –James Laube

2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
“Although it’s soft, it shows enough structure to support exceptionally ripe blackberry, black currant and spice flavors, with richness added by a heady note of liqueur. The tannins are substantial, and the wine is already throwing some sediment. Very nice now, and it should develop bottle nuance over the next 6–8 years.” –Steve Heimoff

Cellar Selection “Garnet color. Aromas of mocha, chocolate mousses and cassis pie with a supple, fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a lively red and black berry medley on the finish with a hint of licorice, cedar and wrapped nicely with dusty, tannins. A great choice for prime rib.”

“The dense ruby/purple-colored 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals attractive notes of loamy soil, black currants, cherries and background wood. Medium-bodied with firm, aggressive tannins and noticeable wood, it is a solid effort that will benefit from several years of bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022.”
